Final Post

The Table Seating App has changed only slightly through the course of the project.  Some graphic details have been planned out a little more.  Going through each lecture post, thoughts of how to keep the software protected from malware and the uses of databases within the app itself is extremely important.  In order to keep track of all of the guests and their statuses and requests, everything will stem from a database to keep the information in line.

In order to make this app a reality, I would first need to truly look into the app market and decide if it is around the right time and how I would price it, if I would price it at first.  Or if I put out a "lite" version for free and an upgrade fee for the full app.

Next, I would need to hire a programmer.  This needs to be a person that can create the app the way I envision it.  If the programmer cannot understand the way I want to convey each screen or the functions I want included, it would not work out.

Then I would need to register as a developer in order to be able to publish an app.  Also understanding the guidelines of the market you want to infiltrate will help you move along in the process much faster. Once you have your programmer and your developer title, it is time to start making the app come to life and start the coding process.

Once coded, the app should be tested to eliminate all kinks within the current version.  To put something on the market without being tested is not within best practices.  To create an app to be published takes time and depending on who you hire to be the programmer money will vary.  However, app making is still a very cheap way to make a lot of money.  If you have an idea that you think will be something or can be something, it is worth taking a chance and seeing if it will do well.

Lecture Post

The Table Seating App is an app that will connect to all apple products and software can be downloaded to connect to computers using other operating systems. The app will allow for the user to create tables and seat specific people together as well as track guest responses to events.  The app is mainly for use at galas wedding or large events.  The app can be used by the everyday person and the ease of the app is it is portable and able to be used on IPads and IPhones.

Malware is software that attacks your computer to take information from the system and gain access to the system.  Malware can be what is commonly known as a virus that attacks a computer to gain knowledge and to steal information.  Malware also has the capability to affect the way the system runs.

Because the app is mainly used on Apple products, there will be less issues with malware than if used with a windows system.  As mac becomes more popular, malware does exist that specifically targets macs however they have very specific paths needed in order to attack the computer.

Operating Systems

My entrepreneurial idea is an app that will allow for easy table seating and guest tracking.   The software will create for easy control of where guests will be seated and who they will be seated next to.  The app will tack who guests have requested to sit next to or who they cannot sit near. The app will allow the user to transfer data from IPads and IPhones to their computers and vice versa.

Windows and Mac are the two large operating systems that are well known and are more often taught.  The others such as Unix and Linux are not as well known or used.  Mac is more compatible with other apple products. Windows will be usable with my app however software will need to purchased outside of an app store while with Mac, the app is easily downloadable.

The operating system my software will be most compatible with will be Mac os x.  This is due to the use of apple products such as Iphones and Ipads being the main user interface of the program.  The ease of installing an app and transferring information between a Mac and other apple products makes this operating system the most user friendly.

Lecture Post

The table seating app allows people to create a seating chart easily and place people where necessary.  The app allows easy usability between devices and systems.  The app will allow guest lists to be tracked and as guests reply they can be added to a table or removed from the table automatically if the chart has already been done.

Cloud computing is a way of storing information on the internet and not on present hard drive.  The cloud allows users to keep information and be able to access it from anywhere in the world.  Cloud computing is commonly used to backup information incase a hard drive is destroyed or crashes.  Apple provides its subscribers with a certain amount of space on the cloud to use for free.  There are also such utilities like S3 from Amazon that allow you to pay for space as you use it.

With my app, information would be easily saved to the cloud.  As it is info will automatically be stored on the device however, users will have the option to backup their work on the cloud and access it from anywhere.  My company would probably use S3 to store our files and company workings.
