Entrepreneurial Idea

My concept is a table seating app.  There are multiple programs available for your computer. However, in todays current technology craze there should be an app for your IPad.  Along with the app for the IPad, you will be able to download an app onto your MAC for free.  For PC users, software can be downloaded as well.  When attending meetings with event planners or just for the ease of transport an app is an appropriate for todays world.

In this app the interface will be user friendly.  The user will have the options to not only seat guests but use the app as a response tracker.  There is one app called Seatingplanner+ however, this app does not provide all the necessary functions to easily plan an event.  With the new app, there will be options to connect guests that must sit together or have requested to sit together.  As well as functions to keep guests separated who cannot be seated near each other.  Using the VIP function guests will be seated in the proper area of the room.

Users will have the ease of choosing from one of many templates to create place cards, labels and connect with the computer software.  The ease of transferring information from computer to IPad or vice-versa will allow for friendly printer use and comfort for those new to IPad technology.

The user will have the options to place guests under his/her titles for weddings as well as define who's guests each person is for gala events.  The user will have the ability to determine the table sizes and shapes.  The options to place tables around the room or have them randomly placed give the user more control over their set-up.  This capability will come from the ability to import the room dimensions into the program and set in a stage or focal points of the room.  The final seating plan can be exported into an excel, numbers, or pdf file for the location or event planner.  You can also export the plan directly to the planner's IPad using the app.

  1. I think this app could be extremely helpful for both sides of the equation. This will help restaurants by having these tables already set up and then it will help customers because they will already know they have a place to sit. I think a really interesting feature to this app maybe could be that the app has connection with local restaurants from the person that is using it. The app showing which restaurants already have all there tables full and a wait and ones that have open seating. This will cater to the people who didn't make a reservation and are just looking to grab something quick as well. Overall I really like the idea!!

  2. Having worked in the restaurant area before I think your idea is great and could be very useful. People in today’s society hate waiting for tables and expect to get seated right away and your app will allow for organization to see what tables are and are not ready for service. However, another consideration to think about is how reservations always change on short notice or someone brings an extra guest causing immediate reaction to change tables or add seats. Maybe develop some type of back up arrangements for your parties in case of changes. Definitely keep working on your idea I really think you can pull this off as you do more research.

  3. I think that this app would help a lot of people in the party planning business. Maybe you can create this app so that party planners can use it for there costumers. For example, create a page for every party planning business and have them put up their services. That way a costumer can choose the table cards, invitations, etc. and the party planners can do the rest. The app would be a middle man!

  4. This app is great! My parents own a party planning business and they always draw out on paper how they want the tables set up where some chairs should go and the guests usually are under so much stress and are crazily trying to do the seatings for their guests. This would be so much easier for the people renting to set up the hall how they want it and it is easier for the party planners to see and do exactly what the customer is asking for.

  5. I really like the idea of this app. Working as a server/host at a restaurant at a retirement home, whenever they brought guests, they would either get split up, or not remember who was coming to sit and eat with them. Having there group predetermined on an app would be very beneficial to that type of audience.
